Figure 1 Publishing is pleased to announce the promotion of Naomi MacDougall to the role of Creative Director. Naomi is an acclaimed book designer who has over a decade of experience in publication design, including as Senior Art Director and Designer at Figure 1 for the past three years. She commences her new role on October 1.

“We are so excited that Naomi has accepted this promotion,” says Chris Labonté, publisher and president of Figure 1.  “She is a gifted, experienced and hard-working designer, and we cannot wait to see where she will take our design going forward. We feel blessed to have her in this role.”

Prior to her time with Figure 1, Naomi was a designer at Douglas + McIntyre and Greystone Books and an art director at Western Living and Vancouver magazines. She has won numerous awards for her design work, including eighteen Alcuins and a National Magazine Award. She brings broad experience to the creative team, as well as a passion for illustrated books.

“I’m delighted to step into this role,” says Naomi. “My goal is to continue to elevate the design and art direction that Figure 1 is known for, and to uphold our reputation for exceeding the expectations of our publishing partners.”
