Welcoming Heidi Waechtler as Director of Sales & Distribution
Figure 1 Publishing is delighted to announce the hiring of Heidi Waechtler as our new Director of Sales & Distribution. Heidi will oversee our sales, distribution, and rights network, working closely with our distributors and sales force to bring Figure 1’s books to readers around the world. She starts the new position on March 21st.
“We are absolutely delighted that Heidi is joining our team,” says Chris Labonté, publisher and president of Figure 1. “She is a consummate publishing professional with a deep and varied skill set, a considerate and proven leader who will play an integral role in our growth and diversification.”
A versatile publishing professional, her experience includes roles as managing editor at Toronto’s Coach House Books, executive director of the Association of Book Publishers of British Columbia, and instructor in Simon Fraser University’s Publishing Program.
“I’ve long admired the work of Figure 1 and their thoughtful and people-focused approach to publishing,” says Heidi. “I’m thrilled to join this talented team, and I look forward to championing our authors and getting our beautiful books into the hands of readers everywhere.”
