Figure 1 Publishing is Canada’s leading publisher of high-quality illustrated books, with a focus on art, architecture, photography, design, and food + drink. We also publish business books in the areas of finance, management, leadership, and corporate memoir. We are a team of experienced publishing professionals who love working together and with our authors, collaborating to produce stunning and important books, and sharing those books with readers throughout Canada and around the world. Who We are Looking For

The successful candidate will have a passion for beautiful, well-edited, well-printed books, and strong organizational and excellent communication skills. We are looking for someone who will be a critical lynchpin in the organization, who is detail-oriented, self-starting and keen to learn all aspects of the business. The publishing coordinator will be responsible for an array of tasks, assisting in every area of the publishing process, including drafting publishing proposals; drafting and managing author contracts; creating, gathering and organizing content for website, newsletter, social media and publisher catalogues; organizing photography and promotional events; coordinating mail-outs; and assisting with general administration for the company.

Qualifications

Prior administrative experience, as well as excellent writing skills, are required, as is the willingness to work in close collaboration with our authors and publishing partners, as well as our Figure 1 team. Prior experience and/or training in book publishing is a plus.
