Deal Announcement: “The Good Lands”
Figure 1 Publishing is proud to be working with respected curators from across the country to publish a lavish art book celebrating the Canadian landscape. The Good Lands will feature over 150 artworks in all media, by artists ranging from ancient to contemporary, representing the land as territory, as topography, and as spirit. Lead curator Dr. Victoria Dickenson has assembled a distinguished team of contributors including Dr. Gerald McMaster, Dr. Laura Brandon, Patricia Grattan, and Dr. Laurier Lacroix. The Good Lands will include original essays by Naomi Fontaine and Lee Maracle, as well as a foreword by Senator Murray Sinclair. The book will be published in English and French editions in October of 2017 and will be supported by curated public walking tours in conjunction with universities across the country.
