Sprinkles, tattoos, baseball bats……and 100 signature dishes
Food enthusiasts leave your Toronto maps at home! Featuring one hundred trademark recipes, Toronto Cooks will take you to the hottest restaurants in a city known for its vibrant and varied food scene.
Each of the chefs has hand-picked favourite recipes, ranging from Momofuku Milk Bar’s Crack Pie to an Apple Cider-Glazed Pork Belly which is a popular dish at 360, the CN Tower Restaurant. You just know something called VitelloTonnatoTartare is guaranteed to be mouth-watering. There’s something for every palate, from Grilled Peaches with Oregano and Pistachio Pesto and Fresh Ricotta to a simple Eggs Benny.
The cookbook features stunning photography from acclaimed photographer Ryan Szulc, showcasing appetizing dishes as well as candid images of the chefs themselves. And what a diverse group of talented chefs! Let’s put it this way: What other cookbook shows a chef clutching a baseball bat, another throwing sprinkles up into the air, a chef using eggs for eyeballs, and one whose exposed stomach is covered in tattoos? It’s worth cracking the spine for these pictures alone. The recipes are a delicious bonus!
Toronto Cooks will be available in stores in October. Check out the book trailer here:
